I have lots of ties to Poland. It is the place I was born in, where most of my family remains, and one that shaped the traditions and culture in my life. My roots are, and will always be, from Poland as I continue my life in America.

Through visual imagery, I explore what it means to belong to more than one place. Though I may have lost the physical connection to the place from where I came from, that sense of belonging is able to live on in new spaces.

This part of my thesis is part of an ongoing collaboration with my friend and painter, Ellen Kanellias, which will be turned into a book come Fall 2020.
