Modular Typeface

This project explored the creation of a modular typeface and the idea of reduction was its backbone. A modular typefaces uses a set number of modules, or shapes, that combine together in different ways to create letterforms. I decided to use my modules to create the negative space of each letterform.

Three different weights were created: a scanned version of my hand-crafted weight, a vectorized weight based of the digitization of my hand-crafted weight, and a reduced weight that omitted the extra chatter surrounding the negative space of the letterforms in the vectorized weight.
