Immigrants and TCKs travel between places, having to prove their identities before being accepted into countries. Non-places, like highways and grocery stores, can be used to observe states of transition. In these places we experience a state of anonymity until we are asked to prove our identity through items such as credit cards, passports, or driver’s licenses. In this video, I aimed to manufacture a sense of familiarity within the unfamiliar through the suggested act of travel, drawing from places I have been weaving into and out of for years.
